Automated sorting by Fibersort
The mission of this organization is to accelerate the practical and scalable implementation of the circular economy; under this roof, several programmes and tools are initiated where we partly are engaged.
Period of the project: 01.09.2016 – 31.03.2020
Funded by: Interreg, a European Regional Development Fund
As participant we support in working on the external framework, giving insights of our business and sharing expertise, defining product standards and creating a network.
“Fibersort”
Fibersort is a technology that automatically sorts large volumes of mixed post-consumer textiles by fibre type. Once sorted, these materials turn into reliable, consistent input materials for high value textile to textile recyclers. High value recycling technologies can transform low value waste into new, high value textiles, and they are a critical link in the circular supply chain. Therefore, Fibersort is a key technology that will enable textile resources to cycle repeatedly through the supply chain. Once commercialized, it will create a tipping point for a new, circular textile industry.
