Demonstrating functioning Digital Product Passports in real settings at CIRPASS 2
CIRPASS-2 is a deployment project with an objective of TRL8-9. The problem we are trying to solve is NOT a technology problem. It is a data interoperability problem. Therefore, to support the transition to a circular economy with DPP systems, a state of the art technology with built-in interoperability is needed.
Period of the project: May 2024 – April 2027
Funded by the European Commission’s Digital Europe Programme
Coordinator: CEA-List, the Digital Institute of CEA
The objective of this project is:
- Deploy and validate at scale and real-life setting Digital Product Passports in four target value chains (textiles, electronical and electronic equipment, construction and tyres)
- Demonstration of cross-pilot interoperability
- Provide support to SMEs in their uptake of DPPs.
- Support the deployment and adaption of DPPS by other sectors targeted by upcoming European regulation and beyond.
In total, 13 lighthouse pilot ecosystems will be built up to validate the functioning DPP in real settings and at scale.
Boer Group is partner in the Textile Loop pilot. The pilot will create and assign unique digital IDs through DPPs and track them through the downstream circular services where sorting partners will facilitate repairing, reselling, upcycling, and recycling use cases.
